Yoongi With Contact Lenses Jimin With Blue Contacts

Hey everyone!

Today I'll be discussing the topic of contact lenses. I have a lot of personal experience with all sorts of contacts of many types and colours. I want to look at the boys and which contacts they like using, and I'll attempt to give you some suggestions on some contacts that have worked very well on myself.

Whether you're a person who has never worn contacts before in their entire life or are an avid user of them, I hope that you'll get some use out of this.

First I'll talk about where you can buy them

All of the contacts I'll mention in this post are from Pinkyparadise and I highly recommend that site. You can get free international shipping if your spend $49 or more, and you'll get a complimentary lens case with your order. It took within a month for my package to arrive, but it will of course depend on where you live. One pair is usually around $12-25 which is very reasonable for contact lenses.

Let's get into the members!

Jin

The oldest hyung doesn't seem to wear coloured contacts too often but when he does, it's usually a bold colour that really makes a statement. I personally think that he looks the best with his natural brown eyes, and the best thing for Jin would be to wear darker contacts that have a very prominent dark rim around them.

Yoongi

This man doesn't have the best history when it comes to contacts, specifically the process of putting them in. I relate a lot to this struggle because the first time I even tried to insert them I gave up after a couple of tries because I got so frustrated, and there was no one to help me.

But in order for Yoongi to wear contacts, he needs someone to hold his eye open and another to insert the lens. This takes a lot of trust and I have no idea how he's able to stand other people poking his eye. Which is the reason why we don't see Yoongi in contacts a whole lot, but he does wear them on very rare special occasions.

Hoseok

From what I've seen, our Hoseok seems to love wearing green contacts. Especially hazel green, and I think it suits him very well.

user uploaded image

It's not too overbearing and adds just the right touch. They are there only to emphasize what he already has, and to give him a bit of a different aesthetic.

From time to time he does enjoy trying something completely different, which is a nice change. He looks like a completely different person, I'm shook.

Namjoon

He seems to enjoy all types of colours and styles, and looks amazing in them. Wore a lot of purple contacts for a moment to match his grape hair, but those days are (sadly) gone. Now he uses a lot of blues and various browns.

Namjoon is one of the few people in this world who can pull off purple contact lenses so well. I own a pair myself, and I don't know if I look good or really stupid. It's a nice change, and I do encourage you to try them for yourself.

Jimin

This is a man who dedicates a lot of time on his eyes to makes sure that they stand out from the rest. Not only with vibrant contacts, but also by perfecting a dark smokey eye look to pull the entire concept together.

user uploaded image

It's sexy and sultry, just perfect. He prefers blue contacts in all shades, and they were a really nice contrast to his once bleached blonde hair. Grey contacts are also something that peaks his interest, and they look wonderful on him.

Taehyung

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Taehyung has the most unique eye shape in Bangtan. They are a bit on the wider side and he has one monolid like myself. A monolid is when you don't have a visible crease in both eyes. Tae has one monolid so a crease in one of his eyes while the other is lacking. It makes them look uneven, but with time and trial I have learned some makeup tricks that have helped make them look somewhat the same.

But Tae wears all of the colours when it comes to contacts, he doesn't seem to have one specific preference. He'll try some really interesting ones that he is somehow able to pull off just like that.

Jungkook

Now Jungkook as really gorgeous round eyes that I could look at all day. They are already very big on their own, and with coloured contacts they look huge.

user uploaded image

I feel like when Jungkook wears contacts his sexy alter-ego comes out and is out there to torture all of us. When he doesn't have any on, he looks much more innocent. It makes a very clear distinction between the two.

Jungkook doesn't experiment with colours much like some of his hyungs do, and he sticks to the colours that he knows look good on him which is mostly vibrant blues.

You have come to this point, and maybe you'd want to buy a pair to test out for yourself. If this is your very first time buying and wearing contact lenses, I've put together some information that is crucial to know before going head first into something new only to fall flat on your face (with an eye infection).

Different types

There are two types of coloured contacts that I'll be talking about, and depending on your natural eye colour, you have to determine which one to get for yourself. So we have the "enhancement tint" which is perfect for people who have lighter eye colours. It's a way for those people to define the edges of your iris in a very subtle way. Something to make your eyes pop out a little bit.

Then there's "Opaque tint" which is ideal for anyone who has dark eyes that vary from light brown to borderline black. That's how you get the most effective colour pay-off.

What do you need?

• Multi-purpose saline solution

You can find these in most drug stores, but I do recommend that you consult with your eye doctor beforehand so you'll be sure you're getting the correct type. This is used to store and clean your contact lenses.

• A contact case

It's important to switch your case every 1-3 months since it's a very ideal place for bacteria to grow which could lead to an eye infection. Remember to clean it regularly by throwing out the old solution, cleaning it with a fresh one and proceed to turn it upside down to dry overnight.

• Eye drops and/or fake tears

Contact lenses will dry up your eyes, and it really just depends on the individual as to how bad it can get. A couple of drops should give your eyes enough moisture, and you can re-apply them throughout the day.

What to keep in mind

• Do you need prescription lenses or not? Make sure that you get the right measurements. And if you do wear glasses, try to recall the last time you went to an ophthalmologist.

• If it's been many months, consider booking an appointment before buying any lenses at all. They will then check your eyes in order to make sure that they are fit for contacts.

• Are you buying monthly disposable lenses or yearly ones? This is important to know so you won't be using them past their expiration date which could be harmful for your eyes.

• :hearts: •

What type of effect you desire

Most kpop stars are very fond of circle lenses that have a dark outer rim which make your eyes appear larger than they are. Or are you looking for a more of a natural touch? You can get these circle lenses without a dark rim if you so desire.

How to put them in

Now this is the hard part, at least for me. It took me hours to be able to put them in my eyes, you can't believe how angry I was. My initial thought was that my eyes were simply too small for contacts which was a lie but I was in denial.

One night I sat down a looked up multiple videos on youtube to find something helpful, and there was a really interesting technique that I'd like to share with you today. I'll show you step by step.

1. Make sure that your nails are cut short or else you'll run the risk of scraping your eye

2. Clean your hands thoroughly

3. Put the contact in your palm and squeeze some solution on it

4. Rub it with your fingers

5. Check if there are any specs of dust on the lens or it will hurt

6. Make sure that the lens is turned the right way, it should be shaped like a bowl. If the edges face outwards, it's inside out

7. Hold your eye open with two fingers, using your free hand to insert the lens

8. Fold it slightly and slowly slide it on your eye

Tips

• Your finger has to be 200% dry so the lens won't stick when you're trying to insert it.

• Try to look up so the lens goes on the whites of your eyes, it's slightly less scary.

• Don't sleep with your contacts in, and avoid contact with water when wearing them as particles can find their way into your eyes and infect it.

When you've done this enough times, you'll be able to do this with one hand within 5 minutes. It's perfectly normal for it to take a while the first couple of tries, don't freak yourself out. Sometimes one eye is easier than the other, or you can't stop blinking and that's fine. You are putting a foreign object inside of a very sensitive part of your body, so it's understandable.

That's it for this post, I hope you found this helpful in some way and if you have any questions at all, feel free to ask!

Until next time

Much love :new_moon_with_face:
